Marble carving workshop in Pietrasanta

Students will be creating their own sculpture from the local statuario, white marble (from Carrara to Michelangelo’s quarry) in small groups (max. 15 people). The workshop will take place indoors in the new art district.  

·    Beginners will be guided from the selection of marble to the finished sculpture.  

·    Advanced students and experienced sculptors will be supported in realizing larger and more ambitious projects.

Our courses in Pietrasanta include:

  • Competent instructions, individually and in groups, approx. 7 hours daily
  • Two-week courses offer more than 70 hours of supervised work
  • Indoor working spaces 
  • Supply of best quality marble for sale on site
  • All sculpting tools manufactured in Italy, for sale at Milani’s
  • Abrasive and polishing material for the ‘finishing touch’
  • For the sculpting courses: weekly excursion either to the quarries or Florence 
  • Maximum number of participants: 15
  • We arrange your accommodation in Marina di Pietrasanta for the duration of the course.

Included in the course fees are:

  • One trip to Florence
  • Two trips to the marble quarries
  • Inclusive of an Italian warm meal with wine at a local restaurant

 NOT included in the course fees are:

  • Travel expenses
  • Accommodation expenses
  • Food and Meals locally
  • Block of marble
  • Sculpting tools
  • Transport of finished sculptures from Italy
  • Personal travel or accident insurance
